1945, 89 minutes, Rated PG
Charles Laughton (Mutiny on the Bounty) is superb as the cruel, ruthless, Captain Kidd, one of the most notorious pirates to have ever sailed the high seas. Despite his reputation, King William III of England enlists Kidd and his men to safeguard passage of a treasure ship from India. Of course Kidd has other ideas, and Adam Mercy (Randolph Scott - Last of the Mohicans) is the man charged with bringing him to justice.
