"Where The Ladies Do Much More Than Lunch"

Sal has always gone out of her way to avoid being recruited by the Ladies' Guild. When her husband dies suddenly of a heart attack, however, the guild soon becomes a great opportunity to avoid visits from the local Grieving Group. Surely Sal and her best friend Tip can find some fun among the knitting, cake-baking and behind-the scenes at Lidl Slideshows?

The Guild members are certainly an eccentric bunch: leader Eileen, who takes are position - and chains - very seriously; cheese-mad Rose (Or Margaret, depending on Whether She's taken her medication); Delilah Stagg of the loose false teeth and orange tights; rock star mother Caroline, who when not horse riding or dining at Madonna's, is always on the look out for somebody to the school run; Queenie. a crossing guard in search of some traffic, and Kate, the local grievance group visitor, still wallowing in a widowhood.

In between sorting out her daughter Tash (whose circus skills course won't add gravitas to her already skimpy resume), Sal helps to galvanize the Guild as they 'beat the bounds', head off boogie-boarding and dress the church for harvest festival. But trouble is coming in the shape of the main Wheel of the Guild - will she close the Guild down before they get a chance to organise the annual village pantomime?
