Joe Yumba has travelled from the dark heart of the Congo to the cold streets of Dublin.
Behind him a life of civil war and terror but ahead, a prosperous future awaits for himself and his "family" wife, Kala and nine year old son Daniel.
His happiness is short lived. Abducted and given an ultimatum - to help access the bank vault where he now works as a security guard - or lose his loved ones who are being held hostage.
Joe turns the tables on the vicious gang and plays them off against each other and the police, while desperately fighting to keep himself and his family alive.
As the police look closer into Joe's background they discover that he is not who he claims to be. Everything we thought we knew turns out to be false as the truth of Joe's identity and the role he played in the horrific killing fields of the Congo start to come to light.
