When David (Luke Wilson) and Amy Fox's (Kate Beckinsale) car breaks down in the middle of nowhere, they are forced to spend the night at a lonely, isolated motel. With only the TV to entertain them, they soon discover that the low-budget slasher movies they're watching were all filmed in the very room in which they're staying. With hidden cameras now filming their every move, David and Amy must rely on their own wiles and outsmart their captors before they too end up the next victims on tape.
