1997, 113 minutes, Rated M

Connecticut 1973 and the future of the United States in limbo, with Vietnam, Watergate and a fading view of that American dream.

It's thanksgiving in 'rural suburbia' and the transparent windows of the Hood family depict a dysfunctional life of paranoid gossip and swinging wife-swapping key parties. Ben Hood (Kevin Kline - Delovely, Life As A House) is trying to bed is mistress (Sigourney Weaver - The Village, Holes). Ben's wife, Eleana (Joan Allen - The Upside Of Anger, The Bourne Supremacy) is losing patience with her husband's clumsy lies and young Windy Hood (Christina Ricci - Cursed, Monster) is finding games to play with the boys' next door.

As night falls and the member of the family embark on their own sexual odyssey, clouds gather on the horizon for an ice storm that will paralyse the suburbs and transform everyone's lives forever.
