"God is a weapon. Love is a crime. And trust will get you killed"

STANDOFF is a dramatically charged thriller portraying the conflicts, betrayals and deadly violence that can erupt at any moment among an isolated group of people under extreme circumstances who share the same basic goal: Survival.

Somewhere in east Texas, the FBI and local police get ready to raid the remote headquarters of a heavily-armed cult of religious fanatics but the cult members have been tipped off, they greet the lawmen with a hail of gunfire, forcing a retreat.

Amid the chaos of the botched mission, two FBI agents, Jamie Doolin (Robert Sean Leonard) and Bama (Dennis Haybert), seek shelter in an abandoned farmhouse, dragging with them a severely wounded local cop. They are joined by Texas Ranger Zeke (Keith Carradine), a red-neck racist, and government agent Hank (Paul Ben Victor). Hiding in the farmhouse basement are two young women, Mary (Natasha Henstridge) and Freebie (Tricia Vassey), who have made their own escape from the religious compound. This small group of survivors are pinned down inside the farmhouse by sharp-shooting cultist snipers, unable to communicate with the outside - their radio link having been cut off by the religious cult.

One of the cops is first to die mysteriously. Killed by a bullet from the outside? Or was he? All the while a walkie-talkie radio transmits the taunting voices of the cult's religious fanatics to the survivors inside the farmhouse.

The farmhouse may shelter its occupants from the deadly gunfire of the cult's snipers, but nothing can ease the tension which keeps mounting inside this pressure cooker of life pushed to extremes, as one-by-one the survivors perish.
