"A new breed of hero!"

Following the Star Wars and the Indiana Jones films, heavyweight producer George Lucas created one of the most controversial, high-budget films in Hollywood history with this witty comic book adaptation that has since developed a huge cult following.

Director Willard Huyck and producer Gloria Katz - the team that wrote George Lucas' American Graffitti and Steven Spielberg's Indiana Jones and the Temple Of Doom - adapted the Marvel comic favourite that sees a humanoid duck from another planet land in America and attempt to save earth from the forces of evil. Howard drinks beer, chomps on cigars, reads Playduck, and finds himself attracted to a sexy rock singer named Beverly (Lea Thompson), while Tim Robbins plays the nerdy scientist enraptured at finding an alien duck. Wry, witty and great fun, Howard the Duck today stands as feel-good 80s classic.
