2007, 92 minutes, Rated M

"When her daughter witnesses a murder, a single mother must stop a teenage killer determined to silence both of them forever."

Barb Cooper is a struggling suburban divorcee working hard to make a living while keeping what's left of her family together. Her teenage daughter Sam blames her for the divorce and their home life is getting worse every day. Rebellious and angry, she has begun hanging out with the wrong crowd and getting into trouble. Though she tries, Barb just can't get through to her daughter and the two live in a tense silence.

But when Sam accidentally witnesses the school bully Jordan Bates murder his best friend Alex at a party, she finds herself in over her head. She learns that Alex was silenced before he could confess to a terrible crime that he and Jordan committed against Sam's best friend Tori. Jordan threatens to kill Sam and anyone she tells about his dark secrets. He brags that he has fabricated evidence that would let him, the son of the powerful police chief, off the hook for his crimes. Estranged from her mother and afraid for her life, Sam doesn't know where to turn.

When Sam is framed by Jordan and jailed for drug possession, she finally tells her mom everything she knows. Desperate to prove her daughter's innocence, Barb launches a dangerous investigation, racing against time to uncover the evidence that will bring Jordan to justice. But when he finds out, she'll have to fight with everything she's got to stop him before he can kill again.
