In a time of prohibition and kill or be killed law, Quebec Bill is desperate to preserve his endangered cattle herd through a long winter. In order to raise the money needed, he resorts to the old family tradition of whiskey smuggling. Accompanied by his son, Wild Bill (Charlie McDermott, The Village), the pair set off on an astonishing journey through the vast reaches of the Canadian wilderness and into a haunted and elusive past.
