Every small town has someone who can fix anything, the only problem with Flagg Purdy (Oscar Winner Alan Arkin "Little Miss Sunshine"), is that he's equally skilled at tearing things apart. Loveable but stubborn to the core, Flagg is easily overwhelmed by life's little annoyances. Only Ada (Barbara Dana) is able to look past his crusty exterior to the tender and vulnerable side of the father of their six children.
Unfortunately, few of their eclectic clan share her feelings. Flagg's plan to win back his family's affections makes this touching comedy one of Arkin's best performances since the madcap
blockbuster "The In-Laws".
