The Hairdresser's Husband is a sensual and funny love story that is as subtle as it is moving.
ince he first experienced the doting pleasure of having his hair cut by a beautiful buxom woman as a young boy, Antoine (Jean Rochefort) fantasised about one day becoming a hairdresser's husband. That fantasy gave way to determined ambition when he met and wooed the dreamy Mathilde (Anna Galiena). Cocooned by their one-room salon they live the simple life, Mathilde cutting hair and Antoine mooching about listening to Arab music and doing crosswords. But as the years of marital bliss pass Mathilde becomes anxious and her ability to uphold Antoine's fantasy.
