"It takes a clever man to make money, It takes a genius to stay alive."

The Counterfeiters is the incredible true story of the largest counterfeiting operation in history, set up by the Nazis in 1942.

Salomon "Sally" Sorowitsch is the king of the counterfeiters. He lives a bourgeois life of cards, booze and women. Suddenly his luck runs out when he's arrested and thrown into a Nazi concentration camp. His exceptional skills are spotted and he is forced to help the Nazis in an organised counterfeit operation set up to help finance the war effort and flood the British and American economies with fake currency.

Faced with a moral dilemma, Salomon must decide whether his actions, which could prolong the war and risk the lives of fellow prisoners, are ultimately the right ones.
