An extraordinary story of leadership, courage & determination.
In 1914, renowned explorer Ernest Shackleton sailed from Britain with a crew of 27 brave men aboard his ship, Endurance.
Their mission: to become the first to cross Antarctica on foot, and to map the uncharted continent. Their fate: 85 miles from land, Shackleton, his men, their 69 sled dogs and the Endurance became trapped in pack ice. Frozen into a northward-drifting ice flow, they drifted further and further from their destination?until after many brutal months the ship was crusted by the ice and sank.
Braving the harshest weather on earth, with only 3 lifeboats and meagre supplies, they began an unmapped journey seeking rescue. Instead they found an adventure no one believed they could survive.
