Four years fighting in the desert during WWII is a piece of cake compared to their return to civilian life! Griff Rhys Jones and Martin Clunes star in this hit comedy drama as two English war buddies derermined to hang on to their battlefield camaraderie and the popularity of their wartime stage routines. Following their dream of stardom concocted in the trenches, the recently demobbed soldiers, Ian Deasey (Jones) and Dick Dobson (Clunes) attempt to break into show business only to find it far more difficult than they imagined. However, when an opportunity to resurrect their wartime stage act at a local nightclub comes up, the bright lights beckon once again. To everyone's surprise, including their own, the double act becomes a big hit that pushes their lives headlong in a dramatic new direction.
