2007, 90 minutes, Rated M
At nearly 30, and dependent on his parents for financial support, New Yorker Jeff (Seann William Scott - "Mr. Woodcock", "American Pie") is hurtling down the tracks of life with no-one at the wheel.
An active participant in numerous therapy groups he attempts to justify his problems citing, rant-style, a litany of real and self-diagnosed syndromes - ADD; learning disabilities; Tourette's; and a balance problem.
With his personal train wreck racing into view Jeff meets Lynn (Gretchen Mol), a quirky, beautiful woman who is charmed by his funny and touching stories.
She encourages him to try stand-up comedy - but before he can get to it he is evicted from his apartment for skipping the rent and annoying the neighbours with his Tourette-induced late night fantasy basketball games.
Despite her own mass of phobias regarding men and romance could Lynn be the one to jump aboard Jeff's life, take control and guide them both onto the line bound for love and happiness?
Based on the book, "Trainwreck: My Life As an Idiot" by Jeff Nichols, Trainwreck: My Life As an Idoit proves to be a career milestone for the many talents of comic Seann William Scott as he takes us into the world of a man heading for disaster....but who nevertheless remains always entertaining.
