2000, 129 minutes, Rated M

Featuring an all-star cast The Golden Bowl is set in England and Italy between 1903 and 1909, this is the story of two marriages entangled in a complex, almost incestuous relationship. Maggie, the daughter of the long widowed American Tycoon Adam Verver, marries a charming although impoverish Italian aristocrat Prince Amerigo. Through a twist of fate Maggie's father marries Amerigo's ex-lover Charlotte. Maggie's suspicion of an affair between the ex-lovers grows after the ill-fated purchase of a golden bowl. It becomes only a matter of time before Maggie unravels the truth from the deception. The Golden Bowl offers a rich portrait of the cruel games that lovers play and a society in which language is as brutal a weapon as any blade.
