Growing up in the "Promised Land" of small-town America, four young people must come to grips with the reality that they may never have the American Dream.
Bound together in High Scholl through the simplicity of turns. Danny, the loner who feels trapped in Ashville, Davey, the basketball hero who has returned after leaving to be a star, Mary, who knows there is something better out there but can't ignore her love for Davey and Bev, who floats through life merely surviving.
When these four are brought together, there conflicts of youth throw them into turmoil resulting in irreparable tragedy and the permanent destruction of their "American Dream".
