Patrick is a 24 year old coma patient, the result of an electrical accident in which his mother was killed.

Although he is described as 170 pounds of limp meat hanging off a comatose brain, it soon appears that Patrick has a great influence on the lives of those around him.

Suspense builds as Patrick's powers begin to work forcing his doctor into a nervous breakdown and those against him into a final confrontation.
