2001, 120 minutes, Rated MA

A had hitting war drama about a young Scottish soldier taken prisoner by the Japanese at the height of World War II, TO END ALL WARS explores man's deepest struggle for freedom in the face of inhumanity and despair. When Gordon's (Ciaran McMenamin) regiment, the elite Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, are forced to build the infamous "Railroad of Death", the inspiration for the classic film The Bridge On The River Kwai, the prisoners are pushed beyond endurance and against each other. Major Ian Campbell's (Robert Carlyle - The Full Monty, Trainspotting) defiant plans to escape and Lieutenant Tom Rigden's (Kiefer Sutherland - The Lost Boys, A Few Good Men, Freeway) code of self-preservation soon run into conflict with the values of dignity and self sacrifice shown by Captain Gordon and his men. The tension between the prisoners increases, we discover that despite the atrocities of life in the camp, the most dangerous war is the one fought within.
