Bruce Willis is a reclusive vet and Lloyd his niece in In Country, about a family's struggle to heal the wounds of Vietnam. Directed by Norman Jewison (In The Heat Of The Night), the film captures the horror of battle - and the disillusionment of a soldier who thought war meant glory and discovers it also means both pain and fear. A poignant final scene - the family's emotional visit to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington DC - caps a powerful movie that "steers a straight and stirring passage to the heart."
