A succession of sensual, violent and extraordinary events fill the dreams of Rosaleen's (Sarah Patterson) fertile and adolescent mind. She wtinesses her sister killed by a wolf and, after the funeral, returns to her Granny's cottage in a dense forest. Her granny (Angela Lansbury) tells her stories of werewolves, and the dangers Rosaleen should expect, especially from men whose eyebrows meet.
Rosaleen's dreams intensity, fueled by the stories she hears from her granny. But as she dreams, many of the stories become reality. She grows older and is influenced by the tales she has been told. When Rosaleen prepares to visit her granny, she carefully heeds her mother's warning to stay on the forest path.
On her journey, she meets a young hunter; he is so handsome she does not notice that his eyebrows meet. He boosts he can reach the cottage before her. Should he suceed, his prize will be a kiss. He does get there first. Rosaleen gets there just in time to see her grandmother dead and the hunter transform into a wolf.
Critically acclaimed, the film was the winner of the Critic's Prize for international 'best film' and 'best special effects' for fantasy films at the Sitges Horror Festival in Spain.
