A professional hitman with a difference, Ghost Dog (Forest Whitaker) conducts himself with strict adherence to the philosophies of the Samurai. Living in a dishevelled roof top shack his usual means of communication with his clients is by carrier pigeon. When Ghost Dog's code is dangerously compromised by a group of ageing, eccentric Mafioso, he reacts in accordance with his ancient beliefs. The tables are turned when the hunted becomes the hunter, eventuating in a violent showdown with the Mafia in an incredible final confrontation, Ghost Dog will make the ultimate sacrifice in order to finally achieve the ideals he has searched for.
