The bickering landlords from Man About The House, George & Mildred Roper, are forced to move, allowing Mildred a chance to climb the social ladder & purchase a house in middle suburbia. Forever striving to rise to their new surroundings, Mildred is constantly betrayed by George & his working class roots. Equally dismayed are their new neighbours, headed by the snooty Jeffrey Fourmile, who fears he'll be forever "knee deep in ferrets & pigeon droppings"!
Premiering 5 months after Man About The House came to an end, George & Mildred would go on to greater fame & huge audience numbers becoming a firm favourite with the public to this day.
