The bickering landlords from Man About The House, George & Mildred Roper, are forced to move, allowing Mildred a chance to climb the social ladder & purchase a house in middle suburbia. Forever striving to rise to their new surroundings, Mildred is constantly betrayed by George & his working class roots. Equally dismayed are their new neighbours, headed by the snooty Jeffrey Fourmile, who fears he'll be forever "knee deep in ferrets & pigeon droppings"!

Premiering 5 months after Man About The House came to an end, George & Mildred would go on to greater fame & huge audience numbers becoming a firm favourite with the public to this day.

When forced to move, George & Mildred head to middle-class suburbia, creating an instant impression on their new neighbours.

Forced to have a bath before visitng the neighbours, George locks himself out of the house.

When George applies for a job at Mr. Fourmile's office, Mildred ends up with the position, leaving George to become a house-husband.

Baby Talk
Mildred becomes broody after babysitting Tristram & considers adopting a baby, but can she encourage George?

Your Money Or Your Life
Mildred organizes a 20,000 pound life insurance policy on George, sparking his concern when realising he's worth more dead than alive.
