1989, 120 minutes, Rated M

A group of actors staging an interpretive passion play in Montreal begin to experience a meshing of their characters and their private lives as the production takes form, but against the growing opposition of the Catholic church.

In his search for information to help him better define his subject, Daniel makes startling discoveries on the life of Christ, discoveries which hold a powerful fascination for him. His increasingly unorthodox audience are equally questioning their deepest beliefs and native faith, whilst hard-nosed reporters are convinced they have discovered the show of the summer.

Some perceive Daniel as a prophet of a new age of the Apocalypse, others as a rising star on the Montreal entertainment horizon, while others see him as a lucid young man waging a desperate struggle against the system.
